The Glenlivet Founder's Reserve is a single malt Scotch whisky from Speyside, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It is named in tribute to the distillery's founder, George Smith, and comes in Georgian blue packaging. It was first revealed towards the end of 2014 and replaces the 12 year old in many mature markets.
The nose brings dates, plum and apricot wine, orange zest, toffee and chocolate raisins, alongside pear drops, cinnamon, honeysuckle and sweet pea. The palate is fruity and then sweet, with toffee, anise, milk chocolate, banoffee pie and apple turnovers. The finish is creamy toffee with a little oak and barley sugar warmth.
