The Glenrothes 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's Soleo Collection, a series matured only in ex-sherry casks and bottled without added colour. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle.
The Soleo Collection moves away from vintages and focuses on age statements, and the sherry casks let the distillery's fruity style come through.
The nose is light, with banana and vanilla. The palate repeats them, adding melon, lemon, cinnamon and a little spice, and the finish carries a lasting sweetness.
