The Great Sherry Cask Xperience Chapter 5 Líber Spanish Single Malt 6 Year Old - The Caskhound (53.4%)

A Spanish single malt from the Líber distillery, and the fifth chapter of The Caskhound's Great Sherry Cask Xperience. It was distilled in July 2016 and bottled in September 2022 at six years old and 53.4% ABV, with 245 bottles filled. The whisky matured in a first fill vintage Pedro Ximénez sherry cask, then spent 20 months in a first fill Amontillado quarter cask. Amontillado begins under a yeast flor and is then exposed to oxidation, and is known for hazelnut, spicy herbs and dark tobacco. Here those notes meet the dark sweetness of the PX cask. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
