The Hearach Oloroso Release is the second core bottling from the Isle of Harris Distillery in the Outer Hebrides, a single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It marks the distillery's ninth anniversary.
The whisky is matured entirely in Oloroso sherry butts, which come from the family-run Bodega José y Miguel Martín in Andalusia, Spain.
The malt is lightly peated, at 12 to 15 ppm, and made with Hebridean water filtered through ancient Lewisian gneiss. The result is a balance of gentle smoke and the fullness of the sherry casks.
