The Heart Cut #09 St George (50cl, 52.5%)

The Heart Cut #09 is a limited experimental malt from St. George Spirits in California, bottled at 52.5% in a 50cl bottle. Only 315 bottles were released. It began as a coffee stout brewed from 100% malted barley and infused with coffee, which is why it is classed as an experimental malt rather than a traditional whiskey. It was matured in American oak barrels air-dried for 24 months and made at the Kelvin Cooperage. The nose is freshly ground coffee with poached pear. The palate is spicy, with green pepper and fresh jalapeño, and the finish turns to white chocolate matcha and an oaty crunch.
