The Irishman 12 Year Old is an Irish whiskey aged in first-fill bourbon barrels. The 2020 release follows the annual tradition of this expression, with 6,000 bottles drawn from a small group of carefully selected barrels. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings chocolate chip cookies, banana fritters and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, with gentle malt, cinnamon, oak vanilla and drying hay. On the palate, earthy, grassy notes sit alongside vanilla custard, milk chocolate and peppery oak. The finish balances caramel pudding sweetness with toasted oak spice.
