The Irishman 12 Year Old is an Irish whiskey matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. The 2020 release continues the yearly tradition of this expression, with 6,000 bottles taken from a handful of carefully selected barrels.
The nose offers chocolate chip cookies, banana fritters and Crunchy Nut Cornflakes, with gentle malt, cinnamon, oak vanilla and drying hay. The palate is subtly earthy and grassy, with vanilla custard, milk chocolate and peppery oak. The finish pairs caramel pudding sweetness with toasted oak spice.
