The Islay 30 Year Old Single Malt Whisky - Minerva x Master of Malt (70cl, 46.3%)

The Islay 30 Year Old is a single cask single malt, distilled and matured on Islay. It comes from a collaboration between Master of Malt and the design agency Studio Minerva, and its design takes quartzite as its inspiration. The strength is brought down slowly over two weeks to 46.3%, and the whisky is non-chill-filtered with no added colour. Soft smoke runs alongside the fruit, with fresh vanilla pod and dark sugar syrup. The nose has tarry notes with cherries, gentle smoke and juicy peaches. The palate is sweet and full yet soft in texture, with intense tropical fruit. The finish is deep and mature, recalling an old cask warehouse, with peat and plums.
