Kurayoshi 12 Year Old is a Japanese pure malt from the Matsui Shuzo distillery. It is a blend of single malts imported from Scotland and married with Japanese whisky of the same age.
It was matured in ex-bourbon casks and reduced to drinking strength with water from Mount Daisen, filtered through volcanic rock. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers nuts and malt. On the palate come vanilla, toffee, raisins and oak, with a little cherry. The finish is soft, creamy and warmly malty.
