The Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a Japanese blended malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is produced at the Matsui Shuzou facility in Tottori Prefecture, founded in 1910, and combines malt whisky from Scotland with Japanese whisky. This three year old whisky was matured in a bourbon cask and is deep gold in colour.
The nose balances oak and sweet malt, with gentle fruit, bready notes and hints of popcorn. On the palate there is poached apple and pear, a splash of vanilla and spicy warmth. The finish is medium dry and oily, with low-key peat.
