The Kurayoshi Pure Malt is a blended malt in a 70cl bottle at 43%. Kurayoshi is made at the Matsui Shuzou facility in Tottori Prefecture, founded in 1910. Like several other Japanese blends, it combines Scottish malt whisky with Japanese whisky, and the exact make-up is not disclosed. This one is three years old and was matured in a bourbon cask. It is deep gold in colour. The nose balances oak and sweet malt, with gentle fruit, bready notes and hints of popcorn. The palate has poached apple and pear, vanilla and spicy warmth. The finish is medium dry and oily, with low-key peat.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
