This is The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask, a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle.
It is matured in sherry seasoned American and European oak casks. The Macallan's whisky makers balance the two so that the sweeter flavours of American oak lead, while the house character of rich fruits, sherry and wood spice sits behind them.
The nose is creamy butterscotch with a hint of toffee apple, candied orange, vanilla custard and fresh oak. The palate is honeyed, with wood spices, citrus, raisins and caramel, and the finish is warm, sweet and drying.
