The Macallan – 12 Year Old Double Cask (75cl)

The Macallan 12 Year Old Double Cask is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, matured for 12 years in sherry-seasoned American oak and sherry-seasoned European oak casks. It comes in a 750ml bottle. The American oak contributes vanilla, citrus and soft butterscotch, while the European oak adds spice and dried fruit. The nose is typically described as creamy butterscotch, candied orange peel, toffee apple and vanilla. On the palate come honeyed malt, vanilla, raisins, wood spice and a little ginger. The finish is warm and sweet, with oak spice and soft dried fruit.
