This is The Macallan 12 Year Old Triple Cask Matured, a single malt in a 70cl bottle, supplied in a barrel tin as a limited edition.
The spirit is matured separately in European sherry seasoned oak, American sherry seasoned oak and American ex-bourbon oak casks. It stays in those casks for 12 years before they are married together. It was previously known as Fine Oak 12 Years Old.
The nose is complex, with vanilla, melon and lemon zest. The palate is medium and balanced, and the finish lingers with melon, papaya and oak spice.
