The Macallan 12 Years Double Cask is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. It marries sherry casks of American and European oak, with American oak the dominant influence, bringing citrus and light oak notes. These are rounded out by the rich Macallan fruit and woody spice.
The nose is creamy caramel with a touch of toffee, candied orange and freshly cut oak. The palate has honey, woody spice and citrus, and the finish is long, with oak and a warm, slightly dry sweetness.
