This is a 15 year old Speyside single malt from Macallan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It is matured entirely in sherry casks made from both American and European oak.
The American oak brings vanilla, citrus and light oak notes, while the European oak adds the rich fruit, sherry and strong wood associated with Macallan.
The nose is dried fruit, toffee, vanilla and baked apple, with hints of honey and chocolate. Sweet raisins, a touch of vanilla, wood and citrus lead the palate. The finish is warm, long and creamy, with ginger and caramel before citrus.
