The Macallan Double Cask 18 Year Old is a Speyside single malt, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is natural in colour and not chill-filtered.
It was matured for 18 years in sherry-seasoned casks of both American and European oak, each seasoned in Jerez, Spain. The two woods bring together sweet American oak vanilla and the spicier depth of European oak.
The nose is warm toffee, dried fruits, vanilla pods and gentle cinnamon. On the palate come layers of honey, raisin, candied orange, nutmeg and a hint of ginger. The finish is long and warming, with sweet oak and soft spice.
