The Macallan 18 Years Double Cask is a Speyside single malt matured for at least 18 years in sherry casks made from American and European oak. The American oak brings vanilla, citrus and light oak to the front, while the European oak sits behind it and adds rich fruit, sherry and strong wood. It is bottled at 43% ABV.
The nose offers dried fruit, ginger, toffee, ripe orange, cloves and nutmeg. On the palate there are rich raisins, caramel, vanilla, ginger, wood and citrus. The finish is warm and woody with ginger, then sweet orange.
