The Macallan – 25 Year Old Sherry Oak (75cl)

The Macallan Sherry Oak 25 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Macallan Sherry Oak range, which uses hand-picked sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez. This one spent twenty-five years in Oloroso-seasoned casks from Spain, and comes in a 75cl bottle. It has a rich mahogany colour and a flavour of vanilla, dried fruit and ginger spice. The nose is fruity, with orange, pear, sweet spice, honey and caramel. On the palate come dried apricots, prunes and figs, with nutmeg and cinnamon over honey. The finish is long, with fig, spice, chewy oak and a touch of light smoke.
