The Macallan 25 Years Old Sherry Oak is a single malt matured in sherry oak, bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It shows a deep amber colour in the glass.
The nose combines sultanas soaked in oloroso with toasted hazelnut, clove, cocoa and black cherry preserves, with walnut skin, citrus peel and a hint of incense beneath. On the palate there are treacle, fig cake, polished oak, gingerbread, sherry-soaked plum, nutmeg and dark chocolate, with espresso and dried orange rind in the middle. The finish is warm, spiced and slightly dry.
