A 30 year old single malt Scotch whisky from The Macallan, in a 70cl bottle at 43% ABV. It spent those thirty years in hand-picked European oak sherry casks.
The nose brings dark fruits soaked in oloroso, raisin, molasses, brown sugar on oak and clove-studded orange, with walnut and aged balsamic behind. On the palate come treacle tart, toasted hazelnut, date syrup and dry oak, with burnt orange peel, black tea and a light saline edge.
The finish is long and gently spiced, with dried fig, old oak and dark cocoa.
