A 67 year old single cask single malt from The Macallan, part of its Exceptional Single Cask series, bottled at 53.4% in a 70cl bottle. The spirit was distilled on 9 November 1950 at the Macallan Estate near Craigellachie in Speyside and matured for sixty-seven years.
It came from a single American oak first fill sherry butt and was bottled in 2018, with 336 bottles produced.
The nose has dried fruits, polished oak, leather, antique furniture and spice, with orange peel and dark chocolate. Raisins, dates, cinnamon, nutmeg, cocoa and mature oak define the palate, and the very long finish holds dried fruit, spice, dark chocolate and seasoned oak.
