The Macallan A Night On Earth 'The First Light' is a Speyside single malt bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is the fourth release in the A Night On Earth series and honours the dawn in New Zealand.
Whisky Maker Steven Bremner combined sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks with a touch of ex-bourbon barrel influence. The artist Bonnie Brown designed the packaging, drawing on the soft coastal colours of morning light and the pohutukawa bloom.
The nose has honeyed malt, citrus peel and baked apricot over vanilla and toasted oak. The palate brings caramelised orchard fruit, creme anglaise, almond pastry, soft spice and malted biscuit. The finish is smooth, with honeyed sweetness, oak spice and a trace of citrus zest.
