The Journey is a release in The Macallan's A Night on Earth series, a collaboration with the Chinese artist Nini Sum. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The series is inspired by Chinese New Year, and this edition aims to capture the experience and emotions of New Year's Eve. The label shows fireworks in an evening sky.
The whisky was matured in a mix of first-fill Bourbon casks and the sherry-seasoned oak that characterises Macallan. It is rich, with bright bursts of flavour, and feels creamier and more vivacious than many of the distillery's other releases.
