The Macallan Classic Cut 2024 Release is the eighth edition of an annual limited series, bottled at 52.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The profile changes with each release.
This edition combines American bourbon oak with European oak sherry casks. The Classic Cut idea looks at how the flavours change when the whisky is cut with water to 40% ABV, and whisky maker Steven Bremner chose both strengths.
The nose is rich vanilla, orchard fruit, marzipan, citrus peel, fresh herbs and sweet oak. The palate brings vanilla custard, milk chocolate, sweet green apple and balanced oak spice. The finish is long, rich and sweet.
