The Macallan Double Cask 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, matured for 15 years in sherry-seasoned American and European oak. The Macallan distillery was founded in 1824 by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer.
Apple is central to this whisky. The nose shows baked apples with butterscotch, marmalade and toffee.
The palate is warm, with apples and raisins, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla. The finish lingers with oak and spice.
