The Macallan Double Cask 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt matured for 15 years in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak and European oak casks. American oak is credited with sweet vanilla and delicate spice, European oak with rich dried fruit and depth. It is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose has warm butterscotch, dried fruit, vanilla and a soft hint of baked apple pie. The palate is creamy and balanced, with honey, raisin and gentle spice. The finish runs medium to long, with sweet oak, citrus peel and warm spice.
