The Macallan Double Cask 15 Years Old is a Speyside single malt in a 75cl bottle, bottled at 43%.
It is matured in two types of oak, American and European, in casks seasoned with dry Oloroso sherry. The American oak brings vanilla, citrus and butterscotch, while the European oak adds a gentle spice. The two are united after 15 years.
The nose offers dried fruit, toffee and vanilla with baked apple, honey and chocolate. Sweet raisin and sultana lead the palate, and the finish is warm with ginger, turning to caramel and citrus.
