This is a 15 year old single malt from The Macallan, matured in both American and European oak. The casks previously held Oloroso sherry. The distillery, which was among the first in Scotland to receive a licence, in 1824, was started by Alexander Reid, a barley farmer and schoolteacher.
The whisky has a warm character, with dried fruit, vanilla and citrus in both aroma and flavour.
