The Macallan – Horizon (70cl, 46.6%)

The Macallan Horizon is a single malt made as a collaboration between The Macallan and Bentley Motors. It was created by Master Whisky Maker Kirsteen Campbell at The Macallan Estate near Craigellachie, and comes in a 70cl bottle at 46.6% ABV. The bottle is a horizontal vessel inspired by the lines of Bentley cars. The whisky was matured in six first fill sherry seasoned oak casks. The nose is typically described as polished, resinous oak with plums, dark cherries, fresh leather and herbal notes, alongside dried fruit and sweet spice. The palate brings dark treacle, cinder toffee, crystallised ginger and charred pineapple, then vanilla, fudge and chocolate-coated Brazil nuts. The finish is long, with mature oak and spice.
