This is The Macallan Litha, a single malt in a 70cl bottle, matured exclusively in first fill sherry seasoned oak casks from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain.
The name reflects a meeting of Scotland and Spain, and the sherry seasoned oak shapes the whisky's character. It is deep gold in colour.
The nose combines butterscotch, vanilla and chocolate with citrus and tropical fruits. The palate brings vanilla ice cream with berry compote, toasted oak, warming wood spice, salted caramel and pecans. The finish is medium, with fruit, vanilla and oak.
