The Macallan Litha is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, matured in first fill sherry seasoned oak casks. Litha means light, the name the Celts gave to the summer solstice.
The casks are crafted in Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, then filled with The Macallan's fruity new make spirit at the estate in Scotland.
The nose has vanilla and butterscotch with a spark of citrus over tropical fruits. On the palate, vanilla ice cream with berry compote meets warming wood spice, chocolate, salted caramel and pecans, with a lingering hint of sweet oak.
