The Macallan Rare Cask is a Speyside single malt, and this is the 2021 release. It is bottled at 43% ABV in a 70cl bottle.
The whiskies used come from selected casks, fewer than 1% of those maturing at the Macallan distillery.
The nose is soft vanilla with rich raisins, alongside fresh apple, lemon and orange. The palate opens with intense sweet raisins, then vanilla and dark chocolate, with gentle citrus notes. The finish is long, rich and smooth.
