The Macallan – Ruby 1824 Series (70cl)

The Macallan Ruby is a single malt from The Macallan 1824 Series, described as the darkest and richest in that range. It comes in a 70cl bottle. Its colour is entirely natural, drawn from the casks in which the spirit matures, and its red hues give the whisky its name. The nose opens with European oak, then rich dried fruits and a trickle of treacle, with a hesitant sweetness. On the palate, ginger, nutmeg and resin lead to orange, sultana and raisin, with a brief note of clove and oak firmly in charge. The finish is long and lingering.
