The Macallan Vibrant Oak is the fourth edition of the Harmony Collection, reflecting the distillery's 200th anniversary and the influence of sherry-seasoned oak on its whisky. It was created in collaboration with Cirque du Soleil and released in 2024, in a 70cl bottle at 43.9% ABV.
The whisky team matured it in a combination of sherry-seasoned American oak casks and refill sherry casks, aiming to bring out classic American oak notes of vanilla, citrus and sweet oak.
The nose is summery, with peaches and apricots, blossom honey, tropical fruit, toffee and sweet oak. The palate has peaches in syrup, warm citrus and toffee, with light floral shades turning to a gentle herbal astringency. The finish is fruity, sweet and complex.
