The Nine Springs – Acacia Cask (50cl, 48%)

The Nine Springs Acacia Cask is a single malt from the No 9 Spirituosen Manufaktur in Leinefelde-Worbis, Thuringia, where The Nine Springs has been made since 2012. It is bottled at 48% ABV in a 50cl bottle. The whisky first matured for six years in bourbon and Bordeaux casks, then spent a further year in acacia casks. The nose balances cassis and red fruit, thought to come from the red wine casks, with hazelnuts, muesli and black tea from the acacia. The palate is strong, spicy and full, and the finish is very long and dry.
