The Nine Springs Muscatel 7 Year Old Cask Strength Single Cask (50cl, 54.9%)

The Nine Springs Muscatel is a seven-year-old single cask whisky from Eichsfeld in Germany, bottled at a cask strength of 54.9% in a 50cl bottle. It is limited to 459 bottles. The spirit was distilled in 2017 and matured twice: first in ex-bourbon casks, then for most of its maturation in Muscatel casks. The nose is floral and fragrant, with vanilla, gorse and gooseberry cake. The palate is surprisingly soft for a cask-strength whisky, with fruity sweetness. The finish is long and juicy; with a little water it brings meringue and lemon cake, turning drier towards the end.
