The Nine Springs Muscatel is a seven-year-old whisky from Eichsfeld in Germany, bottled at 47% in a 50cl bottle. It is limited to 1,160 bottles.
The spirit was distilled in 2017 and matured twice: first in ex-bourbon casks, then for most of its maturation in Muscatel casks.
The nose is floral and fragrant, with vanilla, gorse and gooseberry cake. The palate is surprisingly soft, with fruity sweetness. The finish is long and juicy; with a little water it brings meringue and lemon cake, turning drier towards the end.
