Peated Breeze is a 2026 cask edition single malt from The Nine Springs in Eichsfeld, Thuringia, bottled at 48% in a 50cl bottle. It was matured in parallel in a Pedro Ximénez sherry cask and a Marsala cask.
The distillery uses regional malted barley for its single malt.
The nose balances the rich fruit and sweetness of the sherry cask with ripe pear, vanilla and shortbread, plus a suggestion of smoked bacon. A splash of water brings out hazelnut and the scent of an autumn forest. The palate is notably sweet without being overpowering, joined by gentle spice. The finish is long and juicy, with intense smoke.
