The Pogues Irish Whiskey (70cl, 40%)

The Pogues Irish Whiskey links the Irish folk-punk band with West Cork Distillers. It is a blend developed in 2015, made in small batches from equal parts malt and grain whiskey, with Frank McHardy responsible for its creation. The blend pairs single malt from sherry casks with grain whiskey from first-fill bourbon casks. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle, coloured and chill-filtered. The nose brings malt, roasted almonds and dark chocolate with spice, walnut, citrus, pepper and honey. On the palate come citrus and dark fruit with fresh cracked pepper, a rich mouthfeel, and honey, nutmeg and hazelnut. The finish is round and long, with a malty trail.
