The Roots #27 Secret Islay is a single cask Ardbeg from Islay, bottled at 16 years old by The Roots in a 70cl bottle. It was distilled in October 2009, matured in an ex-bourbon cask and bottled in January 2026 at 53.8% ABV. It comes at cask strength, with natural colour and without chill-filtering, in an edition of 146 bottles. It is described as a distinctly peated Islay whisky in an old-fashioned style, powerful yet elegant, with maritime smoke, a bright citrus note and a well-integrated sweetness.
