The Silkie Dark Irish Whiskey (70cl, 46%)

The Silkie Dark is an Irish blend from Sliabh Liag Distillers, bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, with colour added. It belongs to the Silkie Whiskey Collection. It combines double-distilled single malts with a triple-distilled peated single malt matured in sherry casks. Inspired by the Donegal whiskey style, it uses Irish peat with a heather-based note, which gives a milder, sweeter smokiness. The nose offers fresh apple and sea brine, with spicy, dry smoke and oak. On the palate come sweet pipe tobacco, liquorice, dark chocolate and toffee. The finish is medium in length, with lingering smoke.
