Ruadh Maor is the trade name for this heavily peated Highland single malt from Glenturret, bottled at 55.3% ABV. It was distilled in February 2010, filled into a refill Sherry butt and bottled in August 2021, with an outturn of 719 bottles. The colour is bright gold.
The nose is of barbecue smokehouse aromas, liniment oil, black pepper and yellow sultanas. On the palate come smoked meats with a sweet barbecue glaze and some chocolate-covered raisins. The finish is of savoury roasting juices with a dusting of sugar and sweet spice.
