A single malt Japanese whisky from Yamazaki, aged for 18 years and bottled at 48%. This is the edition marking the distillery's 100th anniversary.
It is matured in Mizunara, a species of oak native to Japan, using long-matured malt whiskies chosen to show what those casks bring. Mizunara is described as the signature of the Yamazaki character, and long maturation in it is said to give a distinctive spiciness and an incense-like flavour of sandalwood and agarwood.
