A straight rye whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery, in the 2025 release of Thomas H. Handy Sazerac Rye. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 64.9% ABV (129.8 proof), in a 75cl bottle.
The rye was distilled in the spring of 2018 and 2019 and aged for over six years in new white oak barrels with a number 4 char. The mash bill uses plump rye, Kentucky corn and malted barley.
The nose combines oak and spice with bright fruit and a hint of apple. The palate is bold with spice and oak, balanced by subtle fruit, and the finish keeps oak, vanilla and warming spice.
