Thompson Bros Speyside Single Malt 1997 24 Year Old

This is a 24 year old Speyside single malt, bottled independently by Thompson Bros. It was distilled in 1997 at a Speyside distillery and matured for 24 years in two refill casks. The bottling comes from 540 bottles. The nose brings confit pear, apple crisps, jelly sweets, birch sap, wheat beer and orange bitters. On the palate there is crisp autumn fruit, including apple, pear, wild plum and prune, with pineapple, agave syrup, lemon zest and floral honey. The finish carries charred oak, custard, wild plum skin and stewed apple, with soft tannins.
