Togouchi Sake Cask Finish Blended Whisky (70cl, 40%)

Togouchi Sake Cask Finish is a Japanese blended whisky from Sakurao Brewery & Distillery, formerly Chugoku Jozo, a company known for its traditional sake. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 40% abv. The whisky matures in imported Bourbon barrels kept in an old railway tunnel, 361 metres long and dug in 1970. The blender then finishes the selected whisky for 3 months in sake casks. It is aged, blended and diluted in Japan, with spring water from the Sandankyo natural park used to reduce the strength. The nose is delicate, with vanilla, green apple and malt. The palate shows lactic, woody and white fruit notes, and the long finish carries white fruit, spices and malt.
