Togouchi Single Cask Mizunara (70cl, 51.1%)

Togouchi Single Cask Mizunara is a Japanese single malt from the Sakurao distillery, bottled at 51.1% in a 70cl bottle. It is made from 100% malt and distilled twice, first in a pot still and then in a hybrid still. The whisky spends five years in Mizunara casks, made from Japanese oak, and matures in an underground cellar: a 361-metre tunnel held at a constant 14°C and 80% humidity. The nose brings beet, smoked cheese and nuts. On the palate come caramel, banana and chestnut, and the balanced finish carries caramel, nuts and a light touch of peat.
