Tomatin – 2010 Barolo Cask 12 Years Old Italian Collection (70cl, 46%)

A 12 year old Highland single malt from Tomatin, part of a Italian Collection of three whiskies matured in Italian wine casks. It was distilled on 6 December 2010 and bottled on 5 June 2023 at 46% ABV, in a 70cl bottle. The first ten years were spent in American oak, followed by two years in an ex-Barolo cask. Barolo is a dry red wine made only from Nebbiolo grapes in Piedmont. The whisky is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour. The nose is aromatic, with marzipan and chocolate. Cherries, cranberries, baking spices and orange come through on the palate, and the finish is sweet and subtly nutty.
