Tomintoul 10 Year Old (70cl, 40%)

Tomintoul 10 Year Old is a Speyside single malt and an original bottling from the Tomintoul Distillery. It is matured only in selected ex-bourbon American oak barrels and is unpeated, with honey, citrus and vanilla in a sweet, fruity character. It is bottled at 40% in a 70cl bottle. The distillery was founded in 1965 on the Glenlivet Estate in the Cairngorms National Park and uses soft water from the Ballantruan spring. It goes by the name 'the gentle dram'. The nose is delicate and floral, with acacia honey, vanilla, wholegrain toast and mild woody spice. On the palate, honey and sweetness meet crème caramel and toasted almonds, with lemon peel and grassy freshness. The finish returns to sweetness before a quick, tingling spice.
